About LoadSnap
Built in Leeds for the people who move Britain's waste.
LoadSnap is one system for the whole life of a load: the office that books it, the driver who collects it, the weighbridge that takes it in and the record that goes to DEFRA at the end. It is made by Web Hero Limited in Leeds, and it files live to DEFRA's Digital Waste Tracking service today.

Why it exists
The mandate was a box to tick for most. We saw the chance to build it properly.

Callum Wells
Founder, LoadSnap
LoadSnap did not come from a software house that discovered waste last year. Our founder, Callum Wells, has spent his whole working life in fleet and field-operations technology, as a global department head at RAM Tracking and at Coptrz, two of the North's standout technology companies.
That work put him close to how the job actually happens: in the cab, at the gate and in the back office. It also showed him where the software always seemed to give up, leaving good operators with paper, spreadsheets and systems that were never built for them.
When DEFRA set out digital waste tracking, most software treated it as a form to fill in. LoadSnap started from the other end: get the day's work right for the office, the driver and the weighbridge, and the record DEFRA needs falls out of that work instead of being typed in twice.
“The people doing the hardest, dirtiest, most essential work in this country were being handed the worst tools to do it with. The mandate is a chance to fix that, and we're building LoadSnap with operators, not at them.”
What we built
One system, from the booking to DEFRA.
Every person who touches a load works in the same system, so nothing is copied from one place to another and the record is right the first time.

The office sees the whole day
Jobs, the schedule, receipts, invoices and what is waiting on someone, all in one place.
- Book a collection or log a receipt in one step
- Know what still needs filing with DEFRA
- Invoice from the job, with nothing typed twice

The driver has it on their phone
The vehicle check, the next job, directions and the record of what was collected.
- Works on iPhone and Android
- Name and signature on every collection
- A photo of the load, classified by the AI

The gate takes it in
The operative books loads in, weighs them and signs them off, without seeing anyone's jobs or prices.
- Loads on the way in, before they arrive
- Gross and tare in, net worked out
- A signed receipt for every load

DEFRA gets the record
Receipts go to DEFRA from inside LoadSnap, with the answer and any correction kept on the record.
- Included on every plan
- Deadlines shown before they pass
- Corrections sent from the same record
How we work
Four things we will not trade away.
01
Built with the people using it
Much of LoadSnap came from customers telling us what their day needs. When an operator pointed out that the law wants a driver's name and signature on every collection, every collection started asking for it.
02
Compliance is the product
A tidy screen is no use if the transfer note is wrong. We build to the regulations and DEFRA's own guidance, and every record stays correctable after it is filed.
03
Straight about what we are
We say we passed DEFRA's tests, never that DEFRA approved us, because that is the claim DEFRA stands behind. We are not SOC 2 certified, and our security page says so.
04
UK first, UK only
LoadSnap is built for UK waste law and UK firms, with your data kept in the UK. Not selling abroad keeps every decision about the rules you actually work under.
